Captain’s Corner

This is Captain Jeremiah Carlucci with Crystal River Fishing Adventures. My expertise on the water goes back almost three decades and my passion for fishing is still the same. I have been fishing since I was a young boy with my brother. He would “graciously” let me tag along on wading fishing trips that would take us through the woods and swamps to get to the most secretive fishing spots. Just to make things interesting, we would always go on the coldest of days. When I was sixteen, I started commercial fishing and competing in tournaments to fund my favorite hobby. For nearly 15 years, I learned the waterways by traveling offshore for stone crabbing and commercial grouper fishing. When I was not in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico, I was running the narrow creeks fishing, mulleting and blue crabbing. This experience has allowed me to understand the fishery and environment of the Nature Coast. I enjoy taking others out to experience the joy of fishing and being able to witness what the Nature Coast has to offer. I run a 24ft Shallow Sport that is made to run shallow so I can get to the where the fish are hiding on the lowest of tides. At times, you would think the Shallow Sport was an airboat it can run so skinny. My boat is equipped with Penn reels and Fenwick rods that work for any type of fishing.
